Hard Reset

We've been quite busy for the past few weeks and even with an 8-hour sleep, we still feel that we haven't recovered. thankfully, our friends let us join them for a short holiday in Katsuura.

A 2 1/2 hour journey to the beach to dig for clams for 3 hours was a good break to have.

Staring at screens for hours on end does have an effect so the awareness needed to hunt for the clams was a refreshing break. A quick stop at a giant grocery named Beisia - and the adults were more than happy to indulge in the affordability of ice cream. Their kid, however, was not impressed.

Hours after, a healthy dinner party ensured that thankfully ended before 10 in the evening. My husband brought along a box of books, while I carried David Epstein's Range. I read a few paragraphs while my husband was able to read a few pages the next day.

Here are the views that we woke up to.

Grateful for our friends turned clients, who also look out for us when they know we're getting frazzled. Grateful for the view, the fresh air, and that this is less than 3 hours away from where we live.

Also, a tiny thing that I was happy to find:

There are usually 4-6 hangers provided by the hotel, but 8?

It's the little things.
