Itoshima: Mitsuru Shoyu

Tucked in this quiet neighborhood is the factory of Mitsuru Shoyu. Now I am not a fanatic when it comes to condiments, much so with soy sauce. But if I can go back to this place, I would very much like to bottle up the scent and keep it with me wherever I go. Ryo decided on a few bottles to bring home, while I was too fixated on the smell indoors. I also didn't take photos inside, but these would do for now. At this time of posting, I found the website and am glad to find out they do deliver to the East-Central part of Japan.

Thank you technology and Japan's reliable postal service.

And here are a few more shots of the surroundings - our favorite was the low laying Sakura.

I call this: Free Range Parking Lot. The vehicles seem calm and happy.

Us: What happened here? Why is it so low? Did the trunk sink into the ground? Should we worry?
Or should we just appreciate its quirk?
Are we still talking about the tree or are we talking about each other?

Seniors cleaning their harvests, I think. Do chores feel cathartic in places as beautiful as this?

Is that water stain or is that yakisugi?

Be amused by the Shiba or the stone/shell water basin.
